Complete info on setting the Winkeyer up for both modes is on the K1EL site.1. This operation can also be used to do 'normal' CW with both the Icom & fldigi in CW mode by picking the other Pin on the Winkeyer. I have no clue what kicks fldigi into reverse. If garbage is received and RTTY-R TEMPORARILY works on the Icom, close fldigi and restart and it will decode properly in RTTY mode. Hitting TUNE does not show RTTY operation. Set the Icom filter to 3kHz, select the signal on the fldigi waterfall, then hit the QSY icon to take the signal to the sweet spot. It can also be used in the standalone mode for RTTY (to be tested soon, IF I ever hear RTTY during non-contests) 15. Basically for this setup the Winkeyer was only used to provide FSK for the Icom in RTTY mode. None of the ICOM RTTY settings have been altered. RTTY reception was BETTER on FLDIGI at times. RTTY tuning/selecting is BETTER on the ICOM vs the mouse with fldigi. Its macros or stored messages on the Icom work equally well. A 350 Hz filter setting on the Icom works great. Tune signals ON THE ICOM using the decode/waterfall. Fldigi config, user interface,LOG,N3FJP logs,Enable Data Stream,PTT via RIGTX (not CW)(I think needed for RTTY) 10. Fldigi set RTTY sweet spot to 2210 AFC OFF. NOTE: There are TWO Winkeyer menus! One under TTY, another from config, operating,Winkeyer 8. Fldigi config, operating,Winkeyer, check Winkeyer settings-Pin 2 (I have pin 1 set for CW, pin 2 RTTY)) DO NOT CONNECT. Fldigi config, operating, active modem,TTY,connect Com 1 (the Winkeyer port), FSK port On PTT, echo Off 7. Change fldigi logging to the proper contest or Generic Contest. Start fldigi, should indicate connection to Winkeyer & N3FJP. Check Winkeyer com port, test it, EXIT wktools program. Open N3FJP ACL program, if there is no version avilable for the desired contest.
